MUTIRÕES
During the year, we carried out two joint efforts that are very significant for the ecosystem of protection zone number 8 (ZPA8). The mangrove is of great importance for the city in view of its multiple functions to the environment as a climatic regulator, mating space for marine species, protector of the advance of waters on the coastal coast and ecological treatment station. This has been degraded for decades, causing pollution and extinction of marine species.
The first task force we carry out is the PLANTING AND REPLANTING of the mangrove always in April. Participation is open to the public that wants to participate and contribute to this great action aimed at planting mangrove seeds on the historic Ilha do Cajueiro. Participants in the action travel from the Jaguaribe River to Ilha do Cajueiro by boat. The mangrove seeds are distributed for planting and the necessary guidelines for planting are given.
Always on the children's day holiday 12/10 every year, we held the second task of cleaning the mangrove area. The idea of carrying out this action precisely on that date is to enable children to experience caring for the environment and observe what happens with the garbage that is thrown on the streets, beaches, ponds etc. and where this garbage goes.

Waste collection is carried out on the banks of the Jaguaribe River, the main and main tributary of the Potengi River. This symbolic act has as main objective, to promote the environmental awareness of the citizen, about the importance of our rivers and also for a correct destination of the garbage, that daily is thrown in the streets.

This action is also open to the public. We distribute suitable material for the collection of waste that at the end of the joint effort is collected for collection by Urbana of this material.
